Walt Disney World: The Basics

Most first-time visitors are not aware of the size of Walt Disney World. The Resort is similar in size to San Francisco and is the most visited vacation resort in the World. The Resort opened on October 1, 1971, and has four theme parks, two water parks, several golf courses, numerous hotels, Disney Vacation Club Resorts, a camping resort, and other entertainment venues.

On March 16th, 2020, Walt Disney World Parks closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Resort reopened in the summer of 2020 with significant changes to the guest experience. The Resort has been running in regular operation, or what is now considered the new normal, for the last couple of years.

Recent New Attractions at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World has introduced numerous new attractions over the past couple of years, and there will be even more exciting additions in the years to come. However, 2025 and 2026 are likely to be slightly quieter years, possibly due to the recent opening of Universal’s Epic Universe. 2027 appears to be a massive year of change, with significant updates planned for Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.

In 2025, two significant changes have already occurred, in addition to some minor updates: a new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, and a reimagining of Test Track.

Major attractions that have opened at Walt Disney World since 2020 include:-

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Located in the Chinese Theatre at Hollywood Studios, this is the first attraction to star Mickey Mouse in any Disney Park. Guests become part of a Mickey Mouse short as they go on a wild journey on the trackless ride system. It is tremendous fun and possibly the best “family-friendly” ride at Walt Disney World.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was initially scheduled to open in 2020. The attraction eventually opened in EPCOT on October 1st, 2021. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure already existed at Walt Disney Studios Paris and is a guest favorite. The attraction features 3D technology and utilizes a trackless ride system. During the ride, you shrink to the size of a rat and cause mayhem in Gusteau’s kitchen.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT was initially slated to open in 2021. Construction resumed once the parks reopened and officially opened on May 27, 2022.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is in EPCOT’s newly renamed World Discovery Neighbourhood. The indoor coaster stars the Guardians of the Galaxy cast, including Rocket and Groot.

This fast-spinning coaster features fantastic effects and a sensational, randomly generated soundtrack. The ride is popular for a good reason.

TRON Lightcycle/Run

Initially announced in 2017, but after several delays, it opened in 2023. The story behind TRON Lightcycle/Run is somewhat challenging to follow. Guests enter a “Digitizer” and are entered into a “computerized world.” The whole thing is confusing, but shouldn’t be missed.

You ride something similar to a motorbike and travel along a high-speed coaster with incredible special effects. The coaster is part inside and part outside; I feel the best rides are after dark when the effects look their best.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a refresh of Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom. I was a little disappointed to see Splash Mountain close, but there were various reasons why Disney made this decision. However, the new ride is excellent and features some more modern animatronics, although the ride itself remains the same.

Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away

A new nighttime parade at the Magic Kingdom is always something to celebrate, and the crowds would suggest many agree. We were lucky enough to see the second preview. Ignore any negative reviews; the new parade is fantastic and should not be missed.

Test Track

Not a new ride, and the finale hasn’t changed. However, it has been reimagined and is now rather good, returning to being one of the big E-Attractions at Walt Disney World.

Remember, if you have not visited Walt Disney World in recent years, there are also the new attractions in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora: The World of Avatar to enjoy. Additionally, numerous minor attractions have been added.

Coming to Walt Disney World

The next couple of years are expected to be very busy at Walt Disney World, with several construction projects planned for Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and the Magic Kingdom. Dinoland USA (part closed so far), Muppets Courtyard, Tom Sawyer Island, and Rivers of America have closed to facilitate construction.

Some of the coming highlights include:

  • Hollywood Studios: New Monstropolis land with a Monsters, Inc. “door-vault” suspended coaster. Coming in 2026, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — Electric Mayhem takeover of the coaster.
  • Animal Kingdom: Tropical Americas (featuring an Encanto ride and an Indiana Jones attraction) is planned to open in 2027. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Opens 7 Nov 2025 in the Tree of Life theater.
  • Magic Kingdom: Largest-ever expansion with Piston Peak National Park (Cars) replacing Rivers of America/Tom Sawyer Island. Plus, a Villains land beyond Big Thunder is planned.
Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open in 2026 at Hollywood Studios.

Initial Research & Reserving your Walt Disney World Vacation

The first steps of arranging any Walt Disney World Vacation include researching, setting your budget, and making your initial reservations.

We recommend that you always follow these initial steps:

  • Set your maximum budget. There will be additional expenses as you approach your departure date; ensure you can still afford to pay for them. We have created a free Walt Disney World Budget Planner as part of our Walt Disney World Planners. If you have a strict budget, print out our budgeting tool to help you stay on track. Upon arrival in Orlando, you may incur additional expenses, such as gratuities and souvenirs.
  • Consider where you would like to stay. There are plenty of accommodation options at Walt Disney World, but other, more affordable options are off-site. Need help making this decision? This Guide might help.
  • Consider how long you want to stay. We have created a guide to help you consider how long to stay at Walt Disney World.
  • Research flights. Flight prices vary, and the best time to book depends on the country. Look at travel forums to find the best time to book.
  • Who is going to book your vacation? Will you book the vacation yourself, use a Disney Vacation Planner, or a Travel Agent?
  • Research Walt Disney World via online media (including this site!), guidebooks, and other sources. Look into when historically offers are released for Disney World Vacations.
  • Do you want to visit Universal Orlando or other Orlando parks?
  • Select your dates and arrange any annual leave requests.
  • Check on the latest International Travel Advice, including vaccination requirements.

Our Walt Disney World Planning Timeline provides further helpful information on when to complete each step of your vacation plan.

Important information for Foreign Visitors to Walt Disney World

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination is no longer required before entry to the United States. However, we live in a changing “political” world, and we recommend checking the latest travel guidance before booking your vacation.

Most foreign visitors must also obtain a Visa before entering the United States. However, certain International visitors may be entitled to enter via the Visa Waiver Program, but they must first obtain an ESTA.

All guests must apply for visas and ESTAs well in advance of their travel plans. You can find out more about Visas to the United States here.

How long do I need at Walt Disney World?

Despite regular online forum and blog post claims, Walt Disney World does not have half-day parks. Each of the four theme parks requires a minimum of 1 day. Most first-time visitors should allocate a minimum of 2 days each to visit the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.

However, you can have a great time at Walt Disney World even if you only visit for a weekend. Animal Kingdom, at the moment, due to building work, is a little light on attractions, and you should be able to complete most of it in one day.

We have created a guide to help you decide the length of your Walt Disney World Vacation.

Should I use a Disney Vacation Planner or a Travel Agent?

Authorized Disney Vacation Planner Agencies are specialist authorized Disney Travel Agents. They operate in the United States only and can plan every aspect of your vacation. There is no charge for their services, and their income is derived from commissions on sales.

We don’t recommend using Disney Vacation Planners, but we can understand why they appeal to many guests. Read our Guide to Disney Vacation Planners to learn more.

We tend to book all parts of our vacation ourselves, and if you are experienced in arranging self-travel, this option usually works out cheaper.

When is the best time to visit Walt Disney World?

Trends have shifted somewhat in recent years, and previously quiet periods are becoming busier. In truth, there is no quiet period in Walt Disney World.

Avoid visiting parks during holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, when they are likely to be at capacity. Surprisingly, Independence Day does not usually have peak crowds. However, you will find quieter periods, as well as busier points that host special festivities.

There is a lot to consider. Here is our Guide on planning when to visit Disney World.

Walt Disney World Tickets

Walt Disney World Tickets can appear complex, but they are actually more straightforward than they may seem at first. However, they are not cheap, and it is essential that you buy the best option.

We have created a guide that explains everything you need to know when buying Walt Disney World Tickets.

Walt Disney World Weather

While it is implausible to visit Orlando and not encounter a fair measure of sunshine, it can undoubtedly be offset by plenty of rain and the occasional storm. Hurricanes worry many first-time visitors, but it would be unusual for them to ruin your vacation.

We have created a Guide to Orlando Weather, which has further information.

Planning Sheets

After your initial research, you will want to write down your vacation plans. Our Free Walt Disney World Planners are a great resource to help create a perfect Walt Disney World Vacation Plan.

Our Free Walt Disney World Planners will ensure you miss nothing on your vacation plans. We last redesigned these planners for 2023 (a new update is planned); make sure you download this free resource.

Essential Walt Disney World Knowledge

Planning your Walt Disney World Vacation is an essential activity. We will guide you through all the Essential Disney World Knowledge you need to prepare and enjoy your vacation.

Keeping Guests Safe at Walt Disney World

Several changes were implemented when Walt Disney World reopened to ensure the safety of its guests. However, there has been a relaxation of all of these policies, and Disney no longer issues any advice on extra safety measures.

Face coverings are optional, and although most guests no longer wear them, you will not feel out of place if you choose to do so. The increased use of technology introduced during the reopening period has continued due to the efficiencies it provides, rather than infection prevention.

Disney Park Pass Reservation System

The majority of guests no longer have to make a Park Reservation. The process was introduced following the Resort’s reopening, but has now been removed for most guests. The following ticket types no longer need a reservation:

  • Date-based 1-day ticket
  • Date-based multi-day ticket

While this covers the majority of guests, certain ticket holders, including Annual Passholders, may need to make a reservation in advance. Guests who need to make a reservation must present their park reservation and a valid park ticket to access the park daily. Guests who do not have either will be refused entry, including those who have a dining reservation.

To learn more about the Disney Park Pass System, visit our dedicated Guide.

Park Hopping

Park Hopper tickets enable guests to visit more than one park at Walt Disney World on the same day. Park Hopping allows increased variation and spontaneity in your vacation, but tickets cost a little extra.

Guests requiring a reservation must enter their reserved park before proceeding to other parks. Visit our Guide to Park Hopping to learn more.

Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours

Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours are exclusive theme park hours available to guests of Disney Resorts and select hotels.

When Walt Disney World reopened in 2020, the previous early park entry system, Extra Magic Hours, did not return and was later replaced by two new benefits.

Early Theme Park Entry is available to all Walt Disney World Resort guests and select hotel guests. Guests can gain 30 minutes of early entry to any theme park daily before the park opens to the general public.

Extended Evening Theme park hours are available only to guests at Deluxe Resorts and a select few other resorts. Guests can enjoy extended evening hours in select theme parks on select nights. Check the My Disney Experience App for the latest opening hours and park availability.

Walt Disney World Park Hours & Closures

Park hours usually get released around six months in advance. However, they often change as the actual date approaches. Click the link to get all the latest Walt Disney World Park Hours.

Walt Disney World is constantly changing, and it is almost inevitable that there will be some attraction refurbishments & closures whenever you visit.

My Disney Experience

My Disney Experience is a free online planning tool for Walt Disney World, allowing guests to plan their vacations. You are advised to download the App before visiting. Through this free service, you can:

  • Keep track of your plans & reservations, including those of your family & friends.
  • Make Dining & Ticket Reservations
  • Use the new Disney Genie service, including Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass.
  • Order in advance and pay for your food at Quick Service Locations
  • Access maps, wait times, showtimes, park hours, and essential information via the App.

Our Guide to My Disney Experience provides more information, including instructions on how to download the App.

Attraction Planning and Reservation Tools at Walt Disney World

FastPass+ and its short-term replacement Genie+ are no longer available at Walt Disney World. There is now a complex mix of free and paid vacation planning systems in its place. Disney Genie is the only part of the new services with no additional charge.

Below is a summary of the available systems. To learn more, visit our Guide to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Attractions, and Premier Pass.

Disney Genie

Disney Genie is a free service within the My Disney Experience app that can help design a perfect Disney World vacation. Disney Genie will create a personalized itinerary tailored to your interests. Disney promises fewer waits, reduced walking, and real-time updates. Your itinerary will continue to be updated throughout the day.

Not surprisingly, views on Disney Genie have been mixed. We have not found it helpful, but first-time visitors might see more benefits.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass

Lightning Lane Multi Pass is the new paid replacement for FastPass+ and the short-lived Disney Genie+. The intention was to remove some of the criticisms of Genie+, but with mixed success. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is optional, allowing guests to make reservations to join a much shorter line at select attractions. Guests will enter the attraction via the Lightning Lane entrance.

Upon arrival in the US, Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels can purchase passes up to 7 days in advance of their stay for the full length of their stay (up to 14 days). Guests staying elsewhere can purchase passes up to 3 days in advance of their park visit only.

Using the My Disney Experience App, you can choose up to 3 Multi Pass experiences and arrival windows in a theme park. The most popular attractions can book up quickly, so purchasing a Multi Pass as close to your window as possible is beneficial.

Once you’re in the park and you enjoy your first Multi Pass experience, you will probably be able to make additional selections. You can book your next attraction as soon as you tap in for your first. Assuming your ticket allows Park Hopping, you can make Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservations at another park once you have completed your first attraction.

Visit our Guide to learn more about Multi Pass.

Lightning Lane Single Pass

Some of the most popular attractions are not included in the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. An individual fee is required to access the Lightning Lane for these attractions. Individual Lightning Lane is available for all guests, including those who have not purchased a Multi Pass. You can purchase up to 2 attractions per day before your arrival.

Visit our Guide to Single Pass Lightning Lanes to learn more.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass

To make it even more confusing, Disney has recently added a costly, additional option. Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows Guests one-time entry to each Lightning Lane experience in a theme park. You do not have to book in advance, and it covers Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions.

The option is similar to Universal Express Pass.

Visit our Guide to learn more about Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Attractions, and Premier Pass.

Play Disney Parks App

The Play Disney Parks App is available through both the Apple App Store and Google Play. The App makes waiting in line fun, with a list of challenges the whole family can play. Plus, at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the App becomes the Star Wars: Datapad, providing you with further adventures.

Rider Switch & Height Restrictions

While Disney World appeals to families of all ages, some attractions are unsuitable for young children. Many attractions have height restrictions for safety purposes, which are enforced strictly.

However, if the kids are too small to ride, it does not mean adults and older siblings can’t. Rider Switch, also known as child swap, allows guests with small children to take turns riding while another adult stays with the child.

Read our guides to see all the Disney World Height Restrictions and learn more about Rider Switch.

Single Rider Line

Happy to ride on your own? Don’t want to pay extra for the Lightning Lane? Then the Single Rider Line is available at Expedition Everest, Millennium Falcon – Smuggler’s Run, Test Track, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster (due to close soon). Often, but not guaranteed, these lines will have a shorter wait than the regular line.

In addition, there are occasional Single Rider lines for certain attractions, including Rise of the Resistance.

To learn more, read our Guide to The Single Rider Line.

PhotoPass & Memory Maker

PhotoPass allows you to keep the highlights from your Walt Disney World Vacation. There is no charge to have pictures taken at Walt Disney World or to view them online, but a fee is incurred for downloading them.

Memory Maker is a package that allows you to download and keep all the pictures you have taken in a 30-day window, including ride photographs. Memory Maker is often included in specific ticket packages.

You can learn more about PhotoPass & Memory Maker in our Guide.

MagicBands and MagicMobile

MagicBands have been an essential part of your Disney World vacation for many years. These rubber bracelets serve as your park tickets, room key, and room charge card; they also store your photographs and manage your dining reservations.

In 2022, a new version called MagicBand+ was introduced. The new bands have added a host of new features, including interactions with parades, fireworks, and some attractions. However, they do rely on a Bluetooth connection, and that can be a bit temperamental, but when it works, it is brilliant.

You don’t have to use a MagicBand, and many features are now available via either the My Disney Experience App or MagicMobile.

Whether you prefer to use MagicMobile or purchase a MagicBand+ is a personal decision. We prefer MagicBands, but plenty of guests do not have one. In addition, you can still ask for a physical card if you like to go “old school.”

Note: Disney World Resort guests no longer receive a complimentary band on arrival.

Disabilities at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World provides extensive facilities for individuals with disabilities. We have created a Guide to Disabilities at Walt Disney World, containing further information on the adaptations & services available in every park.

Finding characters at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World wouldn’t be Walt Disney World without characters. However, for two years, they were operating only at a distance due to social distancing. However, they have now returned, which means hugs and autographs have also been returned.

Although slight changes exist, our Guide to Meeting Characters at Walt Disney World is a great resource. Check My Disney Experience for the latest information.

Where to Stay When Visiting Walt Disney World

There are numerous accommodation options throughout Orlando. Accommodation options include luxurious villas, budget motels & 5-star hotels. Many hotels offer complimentary transportation to Walt Disney World.

However, do you want to stay near the action? Nothing beats staying in a Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney World Resorts offer unique theming, accommodations to suit a range of budgets, several perks, and the opportunity to stay at the heart of the action. No matter who you are traveling with, there will be an accommodation option that will suit you, but it is more expensive than staying off-site.

The Walt Disney World Theme Parks

Walt Disney World has four theme parks, each with its own unique ambiance. All four parks are large and have traditionally taken at least two days to complete. Admission to all parks requires a valid park ticket, including access to dine in a restaurant.

The Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom was the first theme park to open at Walt Disney World on October 1, 1971. Today, it is the most popular theme park in the World.

Visit our Guide to the Magic Kingdom for further information. Massive changes are happening in the Magic Kingdom over the next few years in Frontierland with a new Cars-themed expansion taking over Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer’s Island, plus a Disney Villains-themed area is also planned.

EPCOT

Epcot opened on October 1st, 1982. It covers 300 acres and is twice the size of the Magic Kingdom.

Epcot has recently undergone a multi-year enhancement project. The plans were revised and changed following the Resort’s closure. The revised project is now complete and includes some brilliant new attractions. Currently, there are no significant changes planned for EPCOT.

You can learn more about EPCOT in our Beginner Guide.

Hollywood Studios

Dedicated to Show Business, the park opened on 1 May 1989. Disney launched the theme park in response to Universal Studios opening in Orlando.

Hollywood Studios has undergone massive renovations in recent years and now has some of the best attractions in Orlando. Don’t miss Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Nothing stays still for long, and a new Monsters Inc. coaster is currently getting built. Additionally, 2026 will feature a Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Muppets retheme, and the Animation Courtyard will be reimagined as The Walt Disney Studios.

Read more about the park, including tips and tricks, in our Guide to Hollywood Studios.

Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom was the 4th park to open at Walt Disney World on April 22, 1998. It is the largest park in Walt Disney World, covering over 400 acres. Although it is the largest, it is probably the easiest to complete in a single day.

Animal Kingdom is also undergoing massive changes with new Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions opening in a new area called Tropical Americas, which will replace Dinoland USA.

Read more about the park, including tips and tricks, in our Guide to the Animal Kingdom.

Other Venues at Walt Disney World

Water Parks at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World has two water parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Since the Resort reopened, only one park has been operating at a time, but that will change to both being open for summer 2025. It is unclear whether this is a sign of a return to long-term regular operation with seasonal renovation closures. Check My Disney Experience for the latest information.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach, themed around a ski resort, opened on April 1st, 1995. Legend has it that a freak snowstorm in the area led to Florida’s first ski resort. When the snow eventually melted, it was converted into a water park. The majority of the park’s major attractions are located atop Mount Gushmore, an artificial hill with an elevation of 90 feet.

Only the bravest guests will ride the park’s flagship attraction, Summit Plummet. The attraction stands 120 feet tall, and the near-vertical drops create speeds up to 60 miles per hour.

Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, themed around a storm-damaged tropical bay, opened on June 1st, 1989. The park includes one of the World’s largest wave pools. The park had two shark reefs where guests could snorkel, but this attraction closed in 2016.

During the summer, Typhoon Lagoon operates Disney H2O Glow After Hours. This highly sought-after event is extremely popular, but last-minute reservations are often available.

Entertainment Districts at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World has two central entertainment districts: Disney Springs and Disney’s BoardWalk.

Disney Springs comprises over 150 stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Previously known as Downtown Disney, the conversion to Disney Springs was completed in the Spring of 2016.

You can learn more in our Disney Springs dedicated guide.

Disney’s BoardWalk is a quarter-mile promenade featuring a more limited selection of dining, shopping, and nightlife options. It is also home to the BoardWalk Inn & Villas, as well as several other resorts. It looks like a Mid-Atlantic seaside village from the early 1900s.

Many venues have closed in recent years at the BoardWalk, and the location isn’t currently heavily advertised to guests not staying at a BoardWalk-based resort. However, it is worth a visit if you want a quiet evening stroll.

Golf at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is home to 3 Championship Golf Courses and a smaller nine-hole walking course. Arnold Palmer Golf Management manages the Disney golf courses. Golf and FootGolf are available on a regular schedule at Walt Disney World golf courses.

There are two themed miniature golf complexes, Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland. Each compound has two separate courses.

ESPN Wide World of Sports

The ESPN Wide World of Sports opened in 1997 and is a 220-acre athletic complex. This state-of-the-art facility houses over 60 sports and hosts thousands of events annually.

Disney’s Wedding Pavilion

Disney’s Wedding Pavilion opened in 1995 at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The site can hold up to six weddings daily, but there are additional wedding venues at Walt Disney World. To learn more about weddings at Walt Disney World, click this link.

Additional activities at Walt Disney World

All Walt Disney World Resorts offer a variety of activities for guests staying at the Resort. Information on current activities will be available upon check-in.

Walt Disney World offers numerous special activities, including tours. We recommend checking the latest information on either the Disney World Website or the My Disney Experience App to see what is happening when you visit.

Walt Disney World Transport Options

Getting around Disney World is easy. Walt Disney World has its own fantastic free internal travel network. However, it is worth remembering that direct routes are not available to all locations, which can result in longer travel times than driving. For example, you will usually need to change at a Theme Park or Disney Springs to travel to another resort.

Driving at Walt Disney World

Many guests choose to hire a car in Orlando; this is your only realistic option if you stay in a villa. Orlando roads are excellent and well-signposted.

Parking is not free at Walt Disney World unless you have an annual pass or are a Disney Vacation Club Member. Complimentary parking has also been returned for Disney Resort Guests.

Visiting Walt Disney World Without a Car

In my opinion, you don’t need a car when visiting Walt Disney World. We have created a guide to navigating Walt Disney World without a Car, which shows how easy it is. However, please note that Disney’s Magical Express is no longer available to transport guests free of charge from Orlando International Airport. Alternatively, paid shuttles and taxis are available.

Dining at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World serves a vast amount of food, an overwhelming amount of food. There are over 6,000 food items available at more than 475 different locations. The food at Walt Disney World is excellent, but menu selections and portion sizes have decreased in recent years.

After several years, the Disney Dining Plan is back at Walt Disney World. This paid-in-advance meal package was previously a guest favorite. Read our Guide to the Disney Dining Plan to learn more.

With the increased use of technology, Disney introduced several changes when the Resort reopened, including mobile check-in, promoting mobile ordering at quick service restaurants, digital menus, and encouraging contactless payments. These changes have now become permanent.

We have created a Guide to Dining at Walt Disney World, featuring the latest information.

We also have three additional guides that contain helpful information:

Special Events & Festivities at Walt Disney World

Special events and festivities are scheduled throughout the year at Walt Disney World. These special events help make every Disney Vacation extra special.

At EPCOT, there are four annual festivals:

  • International Festival of the Arts.
  • International Flower and Garden Festival.
  • International Food and Wine Festival.
  • Epcot International Festival of the Holidays

Halloween and Christmas parties are held at the Magic Kingdom, plus Hollywood Studios now has a Christmas event called Jollywood Nights.

Throughout the year, Extra Hour Events are scheduled in select parks. These hard ticket events offer a unique experience with reduced crowds.

In addition to the regular events, there are special celebrations in the parks, especially around holidays. Watch the latest announcements on My Disney Experience and the Walt Disney World website.

I didn’t know that a new park reservation system governs park visitation and requires reservations for the first park you visit each day. You also said that you need to have a valid ticket and reservation in order to enter the park. My husband and I want to take our kids there this summer. I think we’ll need to hire a Disney Vacation Planner for the perfect getaway! Thanks for the tips.

      Hi Lily
Many thanks for spamming me from Mouse Vacation Planning! I have removed your website from your link, but readers can search for you and your competitors via Google.
I am not sure I would recommend my readers use a Disney Vacation Planner who does not know about Disney Park Pass. Perhaps they would be better using one of your competitors of planning a DIY vacation? Anyway, good luck and perhaps you need to update your knowledge?
