So, we started the day by visiting guest services to get a new park pass for Mrs. Modernlifeisgood. How she managed to lose her tickets remains a bit sketchy. However, she did lose them, and the process to get a replacement through guest services was quite straightforward. This isn’t the first time Mrs. Modernlifeisgood has lost her park tickets, though. Something I have never done!
However, I can’t complain too much, as I misplaced my sunhat on another two occasions. The cap was rescued from Transformers and Race Through New York, Starring Jimmy Fallon. Like yesterday’s good fortune, I was again able to retrieve my hat each time. However, I have left it on rides four times in two days. How many lives will the cap have?
Talking about Race Through New York, Starring Jimmy Fallon, for a ride that only opened in 2017, it is starting to look very tatty. Perhaps Universal is waiting to see how long the show will continue to run before refurbishing? Currently, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is scheduled to end in 2026. The attraction will look very dated if the Tonight Show has a new host. More likely, the real reason is Universal just needs to increase the upkeep of its attractions. A lot of work is happening in Toon Lagoon, refreshing the area, but TLC is needed throughout the parks.
Finally, on Race Through New York, Starring Jimmy Fallon, we had 1.5 rides today. A guest, who appeared not to speak English, failed to stop recording the attraction despite being asked several times. It was interesting to see the mechanism of the ride as it stopped mid-flight. I was surprised they allowed the guests to stay on the ride, but one person who was feeling sick made a quick exit. I’m not sure why you would want to film a 3D simulator video; it won’t be something you will watch at home with the rest of the family.
Dinner tonight was at Strong Water Tavern at Sapphire Falls Resort. It was the first time we had visited Sapphire Falls, and the resort did look lovely, but it seemed very busy when we arrived. Strong Water Tavern serves Rum Cocktails and Caribbean Tapas; the venue has some excellent reviews online. We enjoyed our meal and had some quite unusual but very spicy dishes. It would certainly be on the list of places to return to.
