We are back, so it is time for another collection of Live Blogs from Orlando. Like in previous years, we will start with good intentions writing a daily blog of our adventures. Inevitably there will be various delays and mishaps, so the daily live blog will soon fall away. We will almost certainly miss a few days before this latest series of posts comes to an unexplainable halt. However, at least for the next 48 hours, welcome to our Orlando Live 2023 Blogs.
Things are not looking good with carrying out this daily live blog; we are already on Day 2! I’m not quite sure what happened to our Day 1 post. However, we started the day at Manchester Airport, traveling to Orlando with Virgin Atlantic.
For our first night, we stayed at TownePlace Suites by Marriott, a newish hotel near Universal Orlando that was fantastic value for money. We will write more about it when we have time in the coming weeks.
Today we traveled to Universal Orlando, where we are staying at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. We stayed at Portofino Bay last year, and it quickly became our favorite resort at Universal Orlando. The setting of the resort is fantastic.
We spent the day in the parks. Although hot, we haven’t experienced the “brutal” Orlando temperatures recently reported in the media.
Today’s post was intended to be more of a welcome/holding page for our Orlando blogs. I struggled to think of anything to focus on, but our day ended with a visit to Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is possibly the most popular attraction in any Orlando Theme Park. However, despite opening in 2019, it is still plagued with reliability issues that would make Avanti West Coast appear effective. Its popularity and reliability issues mean its waits often far exceed those of an English Emergency Department. Tonight was one of those nights! Great ride, but your waiting time is potluck.
