What is Single Rider at Walt Disney World?
Don’t want to pay for Disney Genie+?
Bought Genie+ and have found Lightning Lane Reservations have already gone for your must-do attractions?
Are you happy to ride on your own?
Then the Single Rider Line might be your solution. The Single Rider Line is available at a limited number of attractions. Riders simply join the Single Rider Line, and when a gap becomes available, a cast member will fill it with a single rider. However, you will not be seated with your friends and family.

Will it save me time?
The Single Rider Line almost always saves time and can be even faster than the Lightning Lane. However, it isn’t guaranteed, and there is no control over how many guests enter this line. The Lightning Lane and Standby Lane always take priority.
You can’t complain if you spend longer in the Single Rider Line than it would have taken in the Standby Lane, you can’t complain. This is the risk you take, but usually, it is advantageous. However, there have been reports of people spending three hours in the single rider line!

Will they let me ride with my kids?
No! Single rider means single rider. Your kids will have to ride on their own. Arguing or pleading with a cast member will not achieve anything. If you want to ride with the kids, join Standby Lane and wait your turn, like everyone else.
What attractions is Single Rider available on at Walt Disney World?
Walt Disney World has not embraced this as much as other theme parks, e.g., Universal Orlando. Currently, Single Rider is only available for
- Test Track
- Expedition Everest
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Some other attractions have space to introduce a Single Rider Lane but have never operated. Tower of Terror has, on occasion operated a Single Rider Line, but not in recent years.
Will it be open?
There are no guarantees. They sometimes close the line early on busy days towards the end of park hours.

Should I get a DisneyGenie+ instead of joining Single Rider Line?
Disney Genie+ does allow you to access the quicker Lightning lane and allows all your family to ride together. However, it isn’t cheap. Read our Guide to Dinsey Genie+ to learn more.
