Park Hopping Walt Disney World

March 11, 2023 by @Modlifeisgood Leave a Comment

When Walt Disney World reopened, Park Hopping was suspended. Guests were restricted to visiting just one Walt Disney World Park a day. However, Park Hopping has now been reintroduced.

For readers unfamiliar with Park Hopping, Park Hopper tickets allow guests to visit more than one park at Walt Disney World daily. You can visit the Magic Kingdom in the morning, then visit Epcot for an evening stroll and dinner.

Park Hopping allows increased variation and spontaneity in your vacation, but tickets cost a little extra. If the ticket you bought does not include park hopping, you can usually upgrade your tickets by discussing it with your tour operator or even at the park gates.

If you have not visited Walt Disney World since 2020, then Park Hopping does now operate differently. Guests must make a Disney Park Pass Reservation for their first park each day and enter this park before trying to enter another. These rules also exist if you want to take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours.

Guests can then enter a second park during Park Hopper Hours. Park Hopping Hours are subject to change, but they currently operate between 2 pm and close at all parks. They have recently changed to 11 am at Disneyland, so there might also be changes soon at Walt Disney World.

You do not need a reservation for your second park; theoretically, you can visit as many parks as you want after 2 pm. Park Hopping is subject to park capacity, and Disney advises you to check My Disney Experience for the latest information. However, parks being closed to park hopping is an infrequent event.

If you have purchased Genie+, you can make reservations in parks you don’t have a reservation for after 2 pm. Similarly, you can buy Individual Lightning Lane attractions after 2 pm. If an attraction has a Virtual Queue, you must be inside the park before making a reservation if you are park hopping.

While the current Park Hopping option does not offer the same flexibility as the previous policy, we highly recommend that most guests buy tickets with a park hopping option.
