Our final day on the Anthem of the Seas, and what a fantastic cruise it has been. Returning to cruising did feel a little bit risky, but we needn’t have worried. Royal Caribbean has been brilliant with well-executed safety plans and thoughtful service. The atmosphere on this ship has been superb, and it has been great to see the crew so excited to be finally welcoming guests once more. To make matters even better, Banana Bread was our final day delight.

Before we discuss Banana Bread a few other highlights from the day, a significant amount of our final day was spent in the solarium, with the kids enjoying the various youth facilities. Adventure Ocean has been brilliant on the cruise. Currently, kid’s clubs are running at limited capacity, but there is no need to book because there are so few children on this cruise. However, I expect booking might be required as we hit late July and August(note we are a few weeks behind publishing this post).

I love the adult-only solariums on Royal Caribbean ships, and the Anthem of the Seas solarium is one of my favorites. The solarium does contain a multi-level pool, but it isn’t that suitable for swimming. However, the pool is better than what has been offered on some of Royal Caribbean’s most recent ships. It is nice to have a pool, but the overall relaxing environment and the hot tubs are the attractions most guests have for the solarium.
The entertainment on the Anthem of the Seas has been top-class. I have been surprised there has been such a complete program while there are only 1000 guests on the ship. Tonight we saw the brilliant comedy juggler Pete Matthews. Pete is a cruise ship veteran, and his show was one of the best headliners we have seen on any cruise. If you click on the link, you can see highlights from one of Pete’s previous shows on Harmony of the Seas. Pete performed the show in the spectacular two70 lounge. Amazingly this was the first time we had visited the lounge during the cruise. However, if time allows you should visit during the day as the sea views are spectacular.
Banana Bread
I have probably “bigged’ the banana bread story up a little bit too much. However, there hasn’t been any banana bread at breakfast since day 1, and Miss Modernlifeisgood wants some!
Her little sister went on a mission to find some. First, she asked a waiter, who called a senior waiter, who called a junior chef, who called the head chef of the Windjammer. Next, the head chef appears with freshly baked delicious banana bread at our table. It is great to be back cruising!
