A couple of weeks ago, I got out my crystal ball and considered the possibility that the 2021 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival might open on July 15th. Mrs. Modernlifeisgood wasn’t convinced by this prediction but grabbed a Disney Park Pass just in case.

Call me Mystic Meg, but believe it or not, my crystal ball was correct, and this year’s EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will start on July 15th and run until November 20th. Yes, this year’s festival will last over 4 months. You might be wondering why I thought the festival would start this year on July 15th. Last year’s festival also started on July 15th, the reopening date of Epcot, and ran until November 22nd. After this, things become a little interesting, which is where my crystal ball kicked into overdrive:
- The Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays ran from November 27 until December 30, 2020.
- There was an 8-day gap
- The Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts ran from January 8 to February 22, 2021.
- There was an 8-day gap.
- Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival runs from March 3 – July 5
- Then there is a 9-day gap!…..oops
- Then the Food & Wine Festival starts
Hmmm…it seems I miscalculated, and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival should have started on the 14th. However, the 15th is the date, which incidentally is the 1st anniversary of Walt Disney World’s reopening. So, my crystal ball got it right, assuming we are allowed into the USA on July 15th; we will be drinking and snacking in Epcot.

The big news about this year’s festival is the name has returned to the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Hopefully, this means “the Taste of” element has been consigned to history. Whether it will be a complete festival this year, we suspect, will depend on events over the coming months. Disney suggests the number of marketplaces will increase as the festival progresses.
Not a lot of announcements have been made about the festival yet, but this is some of the initial highlights:
Sample all sorts of delicious cheeses served in fun ways as part of Emile’s Fromage Montage – if you collect a stamp from five different Global Marketplaces, you’ll earn a prize!
Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak will send you on a savory scavenger hunt in search of Remy statuettes hidden all over the park.
Take a tasty souvenir home from the new merchandise collections, including a festival collection featuring a spirit jersey, baseball cap and so much more.
Listen to musical favorites performed by Voices of Liberty, Mariachi Cobre and the Jammin’ Chefs.

We will bring you more details of the festival over the coming months. Plus, with the aid of a little bit of Pixie Dust, we will be blogging live on July 15th.
