Disney Magic at Sea from the UK Summer 2021

March 26, 2021 by @Modlifeisgood Leave a Comment

With increasing optimism of a more stable summer in the United Kingdom, Disney Cruises has launched a summer season of Staycation Cruises onboard the Disney Magic. Unlike the recently announced P&O Cruises summer cruises, Disney Cruises will be catering to families.

Disney Magic Summer 2021 staycation sailings

Bookings will open in April for a selection of sailings during summer 2021 on the Disney Magic. Cruises will last between 2-4 nights, and like P&O’s offering, there will be no ports of call. Interestingly, there will be departures scheduled from 4 ports, London Tilbury, Newcastle, Liverpool, and Southampton, which presumably means there will be days without scheduled sailings. These cruises are strictly for UK residents, and this appears to be the policy even if borders open before the summer season. You should note that these cruises remain subject to UK Government approval. Disney will release further details on the cruises in April, including clarification over testing and vaccinations.

If you are lucky enough to cruise, Disney has planned plenty of fun to keep you entertained at sea. However, inevitably there will be additional safety precautions to keep you safe, including health screening, reduced capacity, increased cleaning, and restricted availability of certain attractions.

You shouldn’t worry as all the ingredients of a great Disney Cruise will still be present. Disney is still promising characters, imaginative cuisine, the Disney’s Oceaneer Club for kids, Broadway Entertainment, and spa services. Although not the largest cruise ship, Disney Magic is packed with fun family activities.

We can’t wait to learn more about these services, but at the bottom of Disney’s website there is a little message which highlights the ongoing situation:

COVID-19 Warning

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures—for you, our other Guests, Cast and Crew Members. You must follow all posted instructions while sailing with Disney Cruise Line.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.

According to Public Health England, older adults and Guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.  By sailing with Disney Cruise Line you agree to follow all health and safety measures implemented by Disney Cruise Line.

Help keep each other healthy.

These cruises sound great fun and a little step towards normality. We will update Modern Life is Good with more information on these Disney Magic sailing during April.
