Hey, it is a little bit later than planned, but we are cautiously getting slightly optimistic we might be able to visit Universal Orlando this year. Assuming all the stars align, here is our Universal Orlando Must-Do List for 2021.
Ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
It might not be the number one coaster in Orlando for much longer, but for now, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a must-do. Walt Disney World’s exciting new coasters, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle / Run, are delayed until at least 2022, but there is a new coaster coming to Universal this summer. We will discuss the new coaster later, but for now, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure remains number one. Quick mention as well for SeaWorld, who will hopefully launch their new coaster Ice Breaker in 2021.
Make sure you have Universal Resort App installed before you visit. To ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, you must book your place through a Virtual Line.
Visit the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium
It is an old favorite, but why wouldn’t we include it in our must-do list for 2021? We have been missing it!
The Chocolate Emporium food is sensational; both the Coffee & Chocolate Stout Chicken Wings and chocolate bread take some beating. However, the milkshakes are the star attraction for many guests, but we never manage to find room.
Stay at a Universal Hotel to get a free Express Pass
Ok, it isn’t really free, but a stay at some Universal Hotels comes with an Express Pass. I’m not too fond of the concept of paying for Express Pass but feel it is a necessary expense. However, it does not seem as problematic if it comes with your room. A complimentary Express Pass is included for guests staying at Portofino Bay, Hard Rock & Royal Pacific Resorts. All being well this year, we will experience Portofino Bay for the first time too.
Watch Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration
Universal Orlando currently has something Walt Disney World does not. A nighttime show.
There is no indication when shows will restart at Walt Disney World, but who doesn’t enjoy a nighttime spectacular? While it might not hit my must-do list in regular years, for 2021, Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration is near the top.
Jurassic World VelociCoaster
Forget Hagrid! In 2021, Jurassic World VelociCoaster is the must-do attraction in Orlando. Plus, 3 cheers for Universal being prepared to release a big new attraction in these uncertain times.
The attraction is scheduled to open in summer. The attraction will consist of a high-speed adventure through the park’s raptor paddock. With two launches, a top speed of 70 mph, 12 total seconds of “air time,” a 155-foot drop, and several firsts; is there anything stopping you from riding? Perhaps the presence of only a lap bar!
Jurassic World VelociCoaster is going to be a favorite of those brave enough to ride.
