However, there are Magic Kingdom Hacks that will get you ahead of the crowd. Our Magic Kingdom Tips & Tricks have been updated for 2020.
Don’t attempt to do it all in 1 day.
The Magic Kingdom is a massive theme park with lots of attractions. Attempting it all in 1 day will probably lead to failure, tiredness & grumpy kids. If your vacation only allows for 1 day at the Magic Kingdom make a list of your must-do attractions.
You can have fun even when it is crowded
The Magic Kingdom is always busy. Even in off-peak periods, it is probably more crowded than you would expect. However, crowds do not mean you can’t have a great time. Visit our Guide to Crowds at Walt Disney World for a selection of Magic Kingdom Hacks.
Have a FastPass Strategy
Visiting Walt Disney World requires a FastPass strategy. Fastpass+ is Disney’s attraction reservation system. Fastpass+ allows you to book attractions in advance of your visit. Guests not having a FastPass reservation will join a longer standby line and inevitably ride fewer attractions.
In the Magic Kingdom but you are limited to 3 FastPass reservations booked in advance. After using your initial FastPass selections, you can continue to book 1 additional further FastPass until there are no more available.
As soon as you enter the line for your 3rd FastPass, you can reserve your next FastPass. Don’t wait until you ride before you book. Unfortunately, the most popular attractions are likely to have run out of FastPasses once your initial selections are used.
In our opinion, the following attractions should usually be Fastpass selections at The Magic Kingdom.
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Enchanted Tales with Belle
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Space Mountain
To get a Fastpass for all these you might need to visit over 3 days.
