We have already discussed, here on Modern Life is Good, that we think 2020 is one of the best years ever to visit Walt Disney World. However, perhaps you are not sure and are wondering whether you should delay visiting until 2021 or 2022. Here are our reasons why you might want to Skip Walt Disney World in 2020.

You visited during 2019
There have been massive changes at Walt Disney World in recent years. However, if you visited in 2019, you will already have seen Toy Story Land and Pandora – The World of Avatar. Depending on the date you visited, you might have also been lucky enough to be one of the first visitors at Star Wars – Galaxy’s Edge. Visiting in 2020 might be less tempting if that is the case.
However, there will be some additional brilliant new attractions in 2020. Top of the list is Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot.
Walt Disney World is getting more expensive
Walt Disney World is certainly not a cheap vacation, and prices are regularly rising. However, there can be reasonable offers available, including free dining. Unfortunately, it is unlikely to get any cheaper in 2021.
However, if you need to save additional money or want to splurge on a more expensive resort, then you might want to skip Walt Disney World in 2020.

There will be a lot of construction
Actually, apart from Epcot, we think there will be less than in recent years. However, there will be additional construction at both Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom.
Unfortunately, it has been impossible to visit Walt Disney World in recent years and not to experience areas closed for redevelopment. It does not seem this is likely to change in the next few years, with significant renovations happening at Epcot.
If you want to avoid construction, you might have to wait several more years until you visit Walt Disney World.
2021 is Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary
2021 will be the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World and expect celebrations to last throughout 2021 and possibly into 2022. Details of the festivities have not been announced, but they will probably be unmissable.
The 50th birthday will inevitably bring in massive crowds, and you might want to miss them by visiting in 2030. However, if you’re going to party 2021 will be a great opportunity.
