If you are short of time when visiting Walt Disney World in 2020, there will be a temptation to skip Epcot. Epcot is currently undergoing massive renovations, which are likely to take several years. While it is true that the park is probably the biggest building site in the Western Hemisphere, there is still a lot to do in the park. Also, there are several new additions to the park in 2020, which you will not want to miss. These are our reasons why you should not skip Epcot in 2020.

Epcot has some of the best attractions in Walt Disney World
Soarin, Test Track, and Frozen Ever After are some of the best attractions in Walt Disney World. It would be a mistake to miss these on any trip to Walt Disney World.

Nighttime Shows
Epcot is currently showing the time-limited evening show Epcot Forever. This sensational show features classic Epcot tunes with fireworks, music, lighting, lasers, and special effects kites.
However, it will not be around for long as it will be replaced by the big new evening spectacular “HarmonioUS”. Disney promises this new show will be one of the biggest ever produced.
We think it would be a mistake to miss either of these 2 fantastic shows.

Last opportunity to visit some classic attractions
At some point, Spaceship Earth is going to close for a significant renovation. The current attraction will be completely revamped. Early 2020 is likely to be your last opportunity to experience in its current form.
There are likely to be further closures or renovations of current attractions. While we have no information yet, perhaps 2020 will be the last opportunity to ride Journey into Imagination with Figment or Living with the Land in its current form.

Lots of new attractions
While there will undoubtedly be a lot of building work at Epcot in 2020, there will also be several new attractions. Some of these attractions will even be opening in January 2020.
Beauty & the Beast Sing-Along
This new show will also be opening in the France Pavilion in January 2020
Wondrous China
A new film is coming to the China Pavilion. “Wondrous China” will take guests on a spectacular journey across China.

Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360
“Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360” will debut in January 2020 in the Canada pavilion with new scenes and a new story.
Awesome Planet
Opening in January 2020 is a new film at Epcot’s Harvest Theater in The Land Pavilion. The new movie will be called Awesome Planet and will be partly created by Industrial Light & Magic
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
The biggest event at Epcot in 2020 is undoubtedly the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France Pavilion during the summer. The attraction will be similar to the ride which opened at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2014.
Guests will wear 3D glasses, and the attraction will use a trackless ride system. During the ride, you will shrink to the size of a rat and cause mayhem in Gustav’s kitchen.
Also opening in Summer 2020 in the France pavilion at Epcot is the new restaurant La Crêperie de Paris.

There is more to come at Epcot and expect further surprises
The changes coming to Epcot are very exciting, and Disney is likely to spring some surprises during the year. While hopefully most of these will be new attractions, don’t be surprised by further closures.
