Highlights in this month’s update include Disney Villans After Hours, FuelRod charges perhaps happening, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, and what is happening with Space 220.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
The holiday season has now officially started at Walt Disney World with the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has taken place. This seasonal hard ticket event will occur on select nights until December 22. The highlight this year is the brand new Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. Disney Parks Blog has released a replay of the first event.
There will be celebrations throughout Walt Disney World during the Holiday Season. Special festivities will be getting held throughout theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. Click the link to learn more about what is happening in the 2019 Holiday Season at Walt Disney World.

Test Track Closing
When you thought nothing else could close at Epcot, we have news about closure to Test Track. Test Track will close January 13th for six weeks for a software upgrade.
Splash Mountain Closing
It isn’t just closures in Epcot that are happening in early 2020. Splash Mountain will be closing January 6th to February 27th for refurbishment.

Mickey Mouse at Epcot
Mickey Mouse will soon be greeting guests at a new location in Epcot. From early 2020, as part of the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival, Mickey will be meeting guests in the Imagination Pavilion.
Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster Construction Update
Ziggy has been peeping over fences again and has a new fantastic update from the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster at Epcot. The size of the structure is staggering. However, we still have to wait until 2021 for the attraction to open.
Disney Villains After Hours is Back
Disney Villains After Hours was an enhanced After Hours event at the Magic Kingdom for Summer 2019. The event carried some additional entertainment and a slightly higher ticket price than the regular After Hours.
Dates have been announced starting from February to mid-July. Also, there will be regular After Hour events running at both the Magic Kingdom & Animal Kingdom during this period. WDW Magic has done a great guide comparing the differences between the two After Hour events at the Magic Kingdom.

FuelRod Replacements
We love FuelRod at Walt Disney World. These portable charging kits cost $30 and include the most common adaptors. Once your charger needs replacing, you swap it at a kiosk for a new FuelRod at no cost.
However, signs started appearing recently to state there would be a $3 replacement charge beginning November 1. This is controversial as previously it had been advertised there would never be a charge.
It seems there has been some reconsideration of the charge as it has now been removed from kiosks, and the previous free replacement system remains. Rumors of potential legal action may have put off the charging decision.
Star Tours Update
Before Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened, there was another top-rated Star Wars attraction at Hollywood Studios. Star Tours is now relegated to a Tier 2 FastPass at Hollywood Studios, but it is still a great ride.
However, the ride will soon be featuring new footage inspired by The Rise of Skywalker. The new footage will start on December 20th.

Disney Skyliner Reopened
We reported last month on the crash on the new Disney Skyliner. The attraction reopened on October 14th and is running as per schedule.
Just when will Space 220 open at Epcot?
We were told an opening date of Winter 2019 was expected for the new space-themed restaurant. However, reservations are still not being accepted or have any menus be released. Usually, Walt Disney World previews menus months in advance of scheduled opening.
Now it seems that the originally advertised Executive Chef Theo Schoenegger has left the project. An advert is currently out looking for a new head chef for Space 220. Expect the opening date to be soon postponed.

We will be back with another Walt Disney World News & Rumors update in December. If you have missed any of our previous updates, you can find them all here.
