Keeping up to date with our live Orlando Blog this summer has been a bit disastrous. Hectic days and the heat has meant that by the time we get back to our resort in the evening, I have just been too tired to complete this blog. Therefore we are now back home, and I have still not completed the blog of the vacation. Not only do I have the final day of Walt Disney World to finish, but I also have five days in Universal to do as well! However, today demonstrated that even essential infrastructure couldn’t survive the power of Orlando Storms, but I did gain a New Best Friend.

I have a new best friend, the Washing Machine Repair Guy!
Yes, Orlando Storms are so vicious they even take out the Wilderness Lodge Laundry.

The weather this year has been so hot and humid we have had to get changed into fresh clothes most evening. This has resulted in us quickly running out of clothes for the last days of our vacation. Last night I attended the laundry at Wilderness Lodge but found none of the washing machines or dryers working.
This morning as we continued our last minute packing, I attempted to wash our clothes once more. Inside the laundry was the Washing Machine Repair Guy or my New Best Friend.

Yesterday’s storm was so vicious it knocked out all the electronics in the laundry, and a new modem was needed so the machines could operate. Unfortunately, he had to order a new modem, and it was likely the laundry would be out of operation for the morning. However, I did not need to worry as my New Best Friend could override the system. Therefore he set the machines up for me to get a free wash and dry of all our clothes and even gave me free powder. Also, he also gave me a free card for a visit at a future date. Three Cheers for the Washing Machine Repair Guy!
Once packed, and clothes washed, we visited Hollywood Studios. Miss Modernlifeisgood wanted to pick up a Rock N’ Roller Coaster Mug she had seen earlier in the trip. She didn’t purchase on our previous visits as she had decided to see if she would see it elsewhere. Obviously, the shop where the attraction is based would be your best bet on this, but she missed this detail. Also, you would assume that if you wanted a mug of the fastest coaster at Walt Disney World, you would have ridden the ride. Strangely, this isn’t the case as she is always conspicuously absent when FastPass for Rock N’ Roller Coaster is getting booked.

Our last meal was at Spice Road Table in Epcot. Spice Road Table is a Mediterranean restaurant on the outskirts of the Morocco Pavilion. It serves a mix of Greek, Turkish & Moroccan Food. When launched, it did not accept the Disney Dining Plan, but it does now. I have wanted to eat here for some time but had to persuade the rest of the Modern Life is Good Clan.

The Food at Spice Road table was excellent, and I had the Rack of Lamb which was superb. The rest of the family was in agreement we should have visited Spice Road table on previous trips. It also had plenty of gluten-free options. It isn’t a particularly big restaurant, and all tables would have a good view of the Epcot Fireworks.

We had a final ride on Soarin and returned to Wilderness Lodge. After collecting our luggage, we caught an Uber to Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel. The hotel looked great, but it was late, and exploring would have to wait until tomorrow.

Tomorrow we are off exploring Universal Orlando and perhaps hoping to catch the newest attraction at Universal Orlando Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. However, Universal is having a few problems with their new coaster, and the likelihood of riding is remote.
