We had planned a day of park hopping intending to visit all 4 Walt Disney World Parks. Perhaps, realistically in the July heat that was never likely. In the end, we visited the Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom, plus had dinner at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs.
The Animal Kingdom was our first stop. We would start our day on Flight of Passage for which we had a FastPass. Unfortunately, we missed the FastPass, and depending on who you speak to in the Modern Life is Good household, you are likely to get a different reason. My reasoning is the unscheduled stop at the pin-board at Wilderness Lodge led us to miss the bus. However, those who visited the pin-board don’t agree with this assessment.
We still did manage to catch our FastPass for Kali River Rapids and Modern Life is Good favorite Dinosaur. However, having rode Dinosaur for what felt like the 50th time this vacation, I admittedly dozed off on the ride. Proof can be seen in the picture below.
Dinner was at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs. Morimoto Asia is described as an upscale restaurant featuring the finest in Pan-Asian cuisine. While the theme might be “Pan-Asian”, the majority of dishes appeared to be Japanese in origin.
Morimoto Asia wasn’t my choice for dining today, and I wasn’t over fussed on the food. However, the rest of the family did love it, especially Miss Modernlifeisgood. Depending on your food preferences, Morimoto Asia might be a good choice when in Disney Springs.
In the evening we visited the Magic Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours. The parks have not been open as late on this trip to Walt Disney World and tonight’s EMH would finish at midnight. This is a couple of hours earlier than I recollect from previous summer visits. Due to the early finish, and lack of other late-night options during the week, the park was heaving. Despite this, we did manage to complete several additional attractions.
Tomorrow is our last full day at Walt Disney World, and we are off to the Magic Kindom plus dining at California Grill. You can catch up with all our daily Disney World Live Blogs for 2019 by clicking the link.
