Writing a daily blog on our vacation isn’t that easy. Often what we do has already been discussed in a previous blog post. It is easy for the blog to become somewhat monotonous. Therefore I am always looking for a unique event or something different to bring some excitement to my daily posts. Thankfully this afternoon the Mama Melrose restroom provided something unique to write about.

A “Big Shout Out” to the gentleman who took a phone call this afternoon in the Mama Melrose restroom for giving me some unique material.

”I’m sh####g my brains out!” He proudly announced to I suspect an unexpecting caller and I suspect even more unexpecting fellow guests.
Thank you, Sir, for providing a one-off experience, and I hope it wasn’t as bad as you described. Moving on…

We picked the wrong park today Hollywood Studios was packed. There were long waits for all attractions, and several attractions, i.e., Toy Story Mania & Tower of Terror were running at reduced capacity.
We completed our FastPass+ Selections for Toy Story Mania & Star Tours. Also, we completed a couple of minor attractions including meeting Edna Mode. Due to the heat and crowds we decided to move on after lunch.

Hollywood Studios is currently a problematic park. There aren’t enough attractions to justify the big crowds. While the attractions at Toy Story Land are good fun, they are all relatively short. New attractions are coming, including the highly anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but they are likely to make crowds worse.
Mama Melrose was a great lunch and also had a good selection of gluten-free choices. This American/Italian Diner is in my opinion the best of the table service restaurants at Hollywood Studios.
Following Mama Melrose, we returned to the hotel for an afternoon break. We are still acclimatizing to the Orlando Weather and felt a break was necessary.

In the evening we visited the Magic Kingdom after catching the ferry from Wilderness Lodge. The ferry is a relaxing ride and takes just a few minutes longer than the bus.

Again our recommended strategy of visiting the Magic Kingdom towards the end of the day proved successful. In the last hour, we rode Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain. All 3 are Big E-Ticket Attractions, and all earlier in the day had over 1-hour waits. In the last hour, we waited less than 10 minutes for all 3.

Overall a successful day and despite the afternoon break fairly successful. Tomorrow we are off to Animal Kingdom and have a FastPass for Flight of Passage.
We will be writing about our daily adventures here on Modern Life Is Good. You can read all our other Orlando Live Blogs by clicking here.
