Following our traveling yesterday, we had an early night. If you are Mrs. Modernlifeisgood or Little Miss Modernlifeisgood, this was followed by an even earlier morning. Their day started at 3:45 am! However the rest of us tried to persist with obtaining a few hours more sleep. After several false starts, we arrived at Epcot shortly after opening.

The morning was spent exploring Future World. Future World is currently undergoing significant renovations, and several attractions have closed in recent times. This means most guests can complete Future World easily in a full day. Crowds in the park were reasonably light today, and we virtually walked on Soarin without a Fastpass shortly after opening.

By mid-afternoon, we had completed all the main attractions in Future World and had lunch at Sunshine Seasons. Sunshine Seasons is one of the best quick service locations at Walt Disney World. The number of selections available is vast, and the food is of good quality.

Recently Mrs. Modernlifeisgood has become gluten-free, and Sunshine Seasons does have a good selection of food available for dietary allergies and intolerances. Unfortunately, the choices available at our resort quick service, Roaring Fork, is not great. Worse still the quality of gluten-free food at Roaring Fork has been appalling. This morning she was served a frozen muffin! It appears food is brought into the resort frozen, but there seems to be problems heating it through correctly. The result being the muffin was hot on the outside but still frozen inside.
This evening we visited Disney Springs and had dinner at Raglan Road. Raglan Road is an old favorite and usually does not disappoint. Today both food and service were excellent. Our dinner was also accompanied by a live stage show containing Irish Music & Dancing.

Raglan Road does not have a gluten-free menu but will adjust virtually any dish on the menu. They are happy to serve dishes, including gluten-free battered fish or onion rings. Having looked online, Raglan Road appears to be a favorite of guests with allergies and intolerances, and it is easy to see why.

Tomorrow we are off to Hollywood Studios and hopefully will ride Disney Pete’s favorite Slinky Dog Dash.

Disney Pete will be jealous if you get on Slinky Dog! He still talks about that ride a year later!
I still think he is planning a sneaky “Slinky Visit”
