Our earlier blog post on why I thought you should consider skipping Walt Disney World in 2019 has provided plenty of
There are new attractions in 2019(well not a lot)
This was one of my big reasons for not visiting in 2019 but actually, quite a lot is happening at Walt Disney World in 2019. While Star Wars: Galaxy Edge is not due to open until the end of 2019 there is certainly plenty of new experiences to enjoy.
In addition, if you have not visited for a couple of years there will still be Pandora & Toy Story Land to explore.
Perhaps our reader Kelly is correct who had this reason for why 2019 is a great year to visit Walt Disney World: “I respectfully disagree. More construction and fewer new attractions=fewer crowds. Especially when we’re going in early September 2019”
In our opinion Toy Story Land looks better at night. Toy Story Land Pandora – The World of Avatar Pandora – World of Avatar
Is it too expensive?
Any visit to Walt Disney World is going to be an expensive experience. Walt Disney World has recently put up the cost of many tickets and park items. However, recent and upcoming park expansions are not cheap and they need to be funded.
While 2019 is expensive, you can guarantee costs will be higher in 2020 & 2021. However, being
What about the construction?
There is no getting away from it there is construction everywhere at Walt Disney World. However, there does not seem to be any sign this will slow down in 2020 or 2021.
Our reader Kristyn pointed out: “You don’t want construction…do
Kristyn is correct of course although “vacay” is a new word to me! Construction is unavoidable and for the most part, Walt Disney World does make construction as unobtrusive as possible. You might find you have to walk a little longer for a bus stop but overall it will not ruin the enjoyment of your vacation.
Are there better years to come?
There is a lot happening at Walt Disney World in 2020 & 2021. 2021 will be Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary and there are bound to be massive celebrations. However, there will inevitably be massive crowds and further price increases.
By 2021 there will be 3 massive new attractions open. These attractions are a Tron Coaster in the Magic Kingdom plus in Epcot a Ratatouille Attraction & a Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster. The question will be, whether these 3 new attractions plus the relatively new Star Wars Land, Toy Story Land & Pandora spread the crowds out more?
It is inevitable 2020 & 2021 will be busy years at Walt Disney World but perhaps due to crowd spread they will be better than 2019. However, it is impossible to predict at this point.

Are you planning to visit Walt Disney World in 2019?
Any trip to Walt Disney World is a fantastic vacation and you will have a great time if you visit in 2019 or wait until 2020.
If you are visiting in 2019 leave a comment below to let us know how you get on.
The most important thing is to make sure you plan your vacation. Not planning a Disney World vacation can end in disaster. Our Guide to Walt Disney World is a great planning resource to get you started.
I’m planning to go on early December 2019 with my family, I hope there will be less crowds next year. I went in January 2018 and the crowds were huge!
I guess it will depend on what date Star wars: Galaxy edge opens. Could be very busy if opens around then
We are planning a trip for June of this year! Not my preferred time with summer vacation and all but I have a conference at the Disneyland hotel so we decided to bring the kids and make it a whole thing…here’s hoping for smaller crowds?
We are going early May 2019! Couldn’t be more excited to take my husband and little boy. I haven’t been since I was 12. So regardless this is going to be a great trip!
Hillary, you will have a great time! Plus I’m sure your little boy will too
