The Wave… of American Flavors is located just off Disney’s Contemporary Resort lobby. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
The Wave serves new American Cuisine in a casual setting. Whilst not the most upmarket setting at Walt Disney World the restaurant is well designed and comfortable. The menu is inspired by local & regionally sourced ingredients with an occasional international twist. There is an extensive wine & beer menu.
For breakfast guests have 2 options either an extensive buffet containing many favorites or made to order entrees. A casual lunch is available serving burgers, pasta, salads & sandwiches. For evening the menu becomes more ambitious and distinctive with dishes served including Pork Tenderloin & Blueberry, Chili-rubbed chicken & dessert flights. You can get access to a copy of the current menus for The Wave here.
The wave isn’t one of the most exciting dining venues at Walt Disney World for kids but there is a good menu choice. Guests with food allergies and intolerances will also find themselves well catered for at The Wave.
The Wave Lounge is located adjacent to the restaurant and serves organic beer, New World wines and cocktails.
The Disney Dining Plan is accepted at The Wave and costs 1 Table Service Credit. Advanced Dining Reservations are recommended but this restaurant does not usually fill as quickly as those in the parks. You can also book tables using the Open Table website. Guests using the Disney Dining Plan will find dinner represents the best value for money.
Our Opinion on The Wave
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is one of the best resorts for dining options. The Wave is no exception & provides an outstanding venue for a casual dinner.
In my opinion, this is a must-do reservation if you are on the Disney Dining Plan. The restaurant is not a signature location but serves much better food than many signature restaurants within the Theme Parks.
When using the Dining Plan consider exploring dining options at the resorts. Some of the best Disney Dining can be found in the resorts and The Wave is one of the very best. Meals are innovative and include first-class ingredients. The Pork Tenderloin & Blueberry was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten at Walt Disney World. Service is also outstanding in being both attentive & responsive.
