Rolling back a few years ago T-Rex was the most popular restaurant at Walt Disney World. Crowds would queue for several hours just to get a table & Advanced Dining Reservations were not accepted. Disney Springs is now full of alternative exciting restaurants, but for kids, T-Rex Cafe is still likely to be their number one choice. The restaurant is located in the Marketplace section of Disney Springs.

The attraction of T-Rex is the theme. T-Rex promises to take you to a prehistoric world where you will discover the sights and sounds from its resident dinosaurs. Life-sized animatronic creatures come to life whilst you eat the most impressive being the 15-foot T-Rex. The restaurant is split into several themed rooms. The whole restaurant comes to life every 20 minutes when a meteor shower hits T-Rex Cafe. Fantastic fun but be warned some small children might find it a little frightening.

Guests probably do not come to T-Rex to experience the food but actually, it is pretty good. The restaurant is owned by the same company behind Rainforest Cafe. Like Rainforest Cafe huge portions of good quality food will be served. However, this is not fine dining. Salads, ribs & chicken make up the majority of menu items. You can access the most up to date menu here.

The restaurant caters for allergies and has a children’s menu. The Disney Dining Plan and a limited number of Advanced Dining Reservations are accepted. The restaurant costs 1 Table Service Credit and represents a reasonable value on the Disney Dining Plan.

Whilst dining, spend time exploring the restaurant as you will not be able to see everything from your seat. There is a gift shop located by the exit. Plus have your wallet ready as kids do love the Build-A-Dino in the gift shop.
