Disney World Summer 2018 Day 3 Rain & Then More Rain

July 30, 2018 by @Modlifeisgood 2 Comments

Day 3 and we have been to Toy Story Land & it is great. We had a great evening exploring Walt Disney World’s newest attractions. I also spent the morning exploring Old Key West, the afternoon at Disney Springs & had Dinner at The Turf Club in Saratoga Springs. Despite having a fantastic day I am going to spend today’s Blog talking about the weather. In Orlando during the Summer there can be Rain & Then More Rain.

Disney World Summer 2018 Rain and Then More Rain

Toy Story Land Hollywood Studios

Don’t worry Slinky Dog Fans I will talk about Toy Story Land in-depth for another blog later this week.

Slinky Dog Coaster Hollywood Studios

Toy Story Land looks fantastic but we only had a brief look. However we did ride Toy Story Mania & the new Alien Swirling Saucers. We actually hit lucky and got directed into the Fastpass line 1 minute after closing for Swirling Saucers. A very short but fun ride.

Florida is known as the Sunshine State but what they don’t advertise is that it also rains a lot. In fact, in summer it rains most afternoons.

This summer seems to be a fairly typical Floridian Summer with hot humid days and frequent tropical showers. Temperatures can get very high especially in early afternoon.

2018 is not a typical summer in the United Kingdom. The United KIngdom is currently enjoying its best summer for over 40 years. Since May we have seen very little rain.

Rain and even more rain in Orlando

From 16:00 today until 16:10 I saw more rain than I have seen for the last couple of months. By 17:00 I had seen more rain than I have seen this year.

When it rains in Orlando it rains properly. You get no irritating all day long drizzle. Instead you can get drenched in just 10 minutes. Unfortunately it can ruin all your best laid plans.

I have discussed previously how you can beat the weather in Orlando but on days like this there is little you can do. All you can do is take shelter and hope the rain soon settles plus any thunder & lightning quickly pass.

Saratoga Springs

Finally a quick mention about the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. This was the first time we have visited here. The restaurant was comfortable, with a decent menu & food was excellent. We will definitely be visiting again.

Sensational food at the Turf Club

Tomorrow we are off to Animal KIngdom after Brunch at the California Grill.

I need to hear more about that dessert in your picture from Turf Club – it looks amazing! Can’t wait to read more of your thoughts on Toy Story Land; I’ll finally get to see it for the first time in a couple weeks!
