Opened in 1988 this Victorian themed hotel is the most luxurious resort at Walt Disney World. The Grand Floridian includes 867 rooms and suites at an average of 400 square feet. It is by far the most expensive resort at Walt Disney World.

The hotel’s main building features an impressive five-story lobby, stained glass domes and Italian marble floors. A pianist performs in the main lobby during the day & an orchestra is located on the second floor balcony every evening.

Dining includes Cítricos, Victoria & Albert’s, Gasparilla Grill & Games, Grand Floridian Cafe, 1900 Park Fare and Narcoossee’s. The Victoria and Albert is considered as one of the top restaurants in the entire United States. It is a long-standing AAA Five Diamond Award-winning restaurant. Overall the Grand Floridian has some of the very best restaurants in Walt Disney World.

Recreation includes boat rentals, swimming, playground and health club.
There is easy access to theme parks via watercraft, motor coach and monorail.
There are two ‘club level’ lounges at the Grand Floridian. The Royal Palm Club is located in the main building & the Sugar Loaf Club is in the Sugar Loaf building. The Royal Palm Club serves all rooms of the main building and all suites regardless of location. The Sugar Loaf Club serves all other concierge level rooms and is the cheaper of the two. Our Opinion
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is about as far as you can get from a Moderate or Value resort. Indeed even other Deluxe resort don’t offer the same luxury as the Grand Floridian. Here lies the problem it does not feel very Disney.

Whilst luxurious the resort feels cold and lacks the fun of other resorts.
Whilst it will offer an outstanding stay for honeymooners and older couples it isn’t really the best choice for families. We believe that children will prefer other resorts in Walt Disney World which have a more fun theme.
