Disney’s Family Magic Tour Review

August 12, 2017 by @Modlifeisgood 2 Comments

Disney’s Family Magic Tour is an additional purchase tour at The Magic Kingdom. It is a 2 hour guided scavenger hunt around Magic Kingdom which is aimed at the entire family especially primary school children.

Disney’s Family Magic Tour consists of various games, character meets and front of line rides. The scenarios do change but appear to follow roughly the same pattern.

In our adventure we were looking for props left behind by Rapunzel and finished on a search for Duffy Bear. During the 2 hours we covered Liberty Square, Fantasyland and Main Street USA. We discovered various nooks and crannies most guests never see.

Along the way we met Cinderella, Elena and Peter Pan. Peter Pan was fantastic as this was an exclusive meet in a roped off area. We enjoyed a lengthy interaction with Peter who also helped us with a clue.

Games included Follow the Leader and matching pairs. In addition we spent plenty of time searching for well hidden clues and props.

The rides guests enjoy seem to vary but on our trip we were given a front of line and front seat on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train….Not a bad choice by our guide!

Our guide Kirstyn was excellent and made sure the whole family got involved. Although the tour is geared towards younger children our teenage daughter enjoyed the tour.

Up to 20 guests can be on the tour but on our tour it was just the 4 of us. I’m not sure whether I would have enjoyed the tour as much if it had been full. I think some of the games would have been less fun with a bigger crowd.

Our tour finished with a visit to “The Boss” to return Duffy. Again a front of line and extended experience was enjoyed with Mickey Mouse. This was the first time we had met the talking version and it is good fun.

We really enjoyed Disney’s Family Magic Tour. It currently costs $39 per person in addition to your park ticket. It does work out quite expensive for just 2 hours but was great family fun.
