Our final day in Orlando included a late evening flight back to the UK. A quick look at the UK weather and suddenly the Orlando weather does not seem so bad after all. It has been a good trip but any vacation is better than no vacation.
Packing our cases was the first job of the day. The plenty of extra space we had in our suitcases seemed to have disappeared. Mrs. Modernlifeisgood.com & Little Miss Modernlifieisgood.com had purchased a few essentials for home. Whilst the Banshee bought in Animal Kingdom was an essential purchase they are not very suitcase friendly.

After several attempts at repacking we were ready to vacate our room. However; first I needed a trip to the hotel reception. On arrival we had registered 2 cards with the hotel. Our final invoice came and all charges had been made to Mrs. Modernlifieisgood.com’s credit card.
Whilst having no charges at first seemed an end of holiday bonus it didn’t seem that fair that Mrs. Modernlifiesigood.com had paid for her own birthday present. In addition I don’t think she had forgiven me yet for the birthday card incident.
A quick call to reception and charges were sorted but it remains to be seen whether the will be any charges on her card statement.
After a quick breakfast we headed to Magic Kingdom for a final time. One of the things we have noticed on this trip is Magic Kingdom is horrendously busy on a Tuesday and today was no exception.

All we had time for was a ride on Big Thunder Mountain, meet Mary Poppins and a few bits of essential last-minute shopping. We also had several left over snack credits to use which we used to buy sweets for our journey home.

We left the park for a final time with plenty of time to catch the Magical Express. Or so we thought….
Once again a Riverside bus did not turn up.
Every other resort had a bus.
Some resorts had 2.
Others even had 3.
Not for the first time this trip Riverside appeared to be the poor relation of Disney Transportation.
After 1 hour a bus did turn up but it was too late to get the Magical Express and have lunch. We decided to ge a lunch in our resort and get an Uber later to the airport. Uber has been one of the highlights of this trip. I do recommend it if you don’t want to hire a car in Orlando.
Compared to Manchester check-in at Orlando was a breeze.

Whilst in Orlando International we went to lost and found to recover somebody’s lost property.
On this trip we have lost a room key, a park ticket, an express pass, a pair of sunglasses, an iPad several times(although later found) & 2 sun hats.
However; today we had not lost anything. One of Mrs. Modernlifeisgood.com’s colleagues had previously left 2 pairs of glasses in Orlando airport. I am struggling a little over how you manage to lose 2 pairs of glasses and still manage to find your way home.
The plane was running 20 minutes late but would catch up on the way home. The flight was only about half full & Virgin was much better than the outward journey. The food especially was much better. The beef actually tasted like beef!
We arrived back to heavy rain in Manchester at 8:30am. Unfortunately no stand was available for the aircraft on our arrival so we needed to get a bus to the terminal.
We made our way out on to the runway to welcome the British Summer.
