Orlando Live 2017 Day 13 Pandora – World of Avatar.

Pandora - World of Avatar

On today’s blog we are off to Animal Kingdom. However, today I am not going to focus on the usual weather, attractions, dinner selections etc.. Today we are going to concentrate on the Hottest New Attraction in Orlando. That is of course Pandora – World of Avatar.

Pandora opened to the public in May 2017. The area is believed to have cost in the region of $500 million. It is inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar which remains the highest grossing film of all time. The Land features Pandora’s wildlife, plants and alien wildlife. The total area that has been developed is in the region of 12 acres.

The area contains 2 main attractions Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. In addition the are Avatar inspired shopping and dining options.

Na’vi River Journey takes guests through the Kasvapan River of Pandora. On your journey you will see native animals and bioluminescent flora. The audio-animatronics are stunning and the catchy music will stay in your head all day. This ride is suitable for all the family and only the most timid children will be scared.

Avatar Flight of Passage allows guests to take a flight on a Banshee across Pandora. This 3D simulator is unbelievable and has raised the bar on theme park experiences. Although queues are incredibly long without a Fastpass this is a ride NOT to miss. If you can’t get a Fastpass get in the standby line. You will regret it if you don’t.

The rest of Pandora is visually stunning. The Land is by far the best in any theme park currently. The attention to detail I see unbelievable. Trying to work out which are real and what are model plants is quite a challenge.

If Toy Story Playland and Star Wars Land are of the same quality the will be plenty of reason to visit WDW in the coming years.

Tomorrow we are back to Animal Kingdom and I can’t wait.

But will Nana be scared? Will she have to stick to “it’s a small world?”
