After several busy days today we had a much more relaxed day by the Riverside Pool & having lunch in the French Quarter.

For those unfamiliar Port Orleans Resort is split into 2 halves Riverside and French Quarter.

Due to the vast size of Port Orleans they operate as 2 separate resorts although guests can share each other’s facilities.
Riverside is the larger and older Resort. It was originally called Dixie Landings.

Both Resorts are very beautiful but I have written before about how I feel Riverside struggles with its number of guests.
The pool at Riverside is quite nice but gets very crowded. It however is not one of the best Disney World Pools. The floor of the pool is a bit rough and we did collect a few minor abrasions. We had a couple of relaxing hours though around the pool.

For lunch we walked to French Quarter. The walk between the 2 parts of Port Orleans takes about 10 minutes and is very pleasant. We noticed the pool at French Quarter was less crowded and appeared nicer than Riverside.

The Quick Service at French Quarter has recently been refurbished and serves some of the best Quick Service food in Disney World. We had an exceptional lunch all made fresh to order.

Late afternoon we travelled to EPCOT and again we were troubled by daily storms. Once again we were unable to ride Test Track.

We rode Universe of Energy for the final time which is now scheduled to close in August. I think this is a great shame as I still think this ride has much to offer.

Dinner was at Chefs de France. We were very disappointed with our last visit here but tonight it did not disappoint.
A relaxing day after our hectic last few days. Tomorrow we are off to Disney Springs.
