Welcome to day 2 of our Orlando 2017 blog. Today was our first full day and we were off to Universal Studios to find a minion.

So off we went to Universal Studios bright and early to get into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. However; as soon as we arrived disaster struck.

Somebody from our party had lost their express pass, room key & park tickets!
How could they do something so silly?
Who was it?
It wasn’t me!
What would we do?
After visits to guest services, trips back to the hotel and emails from England we are now sorted. We have replacements tickets and room keys.
Various levels of helpfulness from staff we encountered.
What happened to the tickets we still have no idea.
Breakfast was in the Leaky Cauldron. Brilliant theming but less than stunning food.

The rest of the day was relatively benign. We rode the new Jimmy Fallon ride & eventually the Hogwarts Express. On our last trip the Hogwarts Express was closed due to technical issues.

Jimmy Fallon is a great new ride and the Hogwarts Express was worth the wait.
Lunch we had in Finnegan’s Bar and Grill which is an Irish Bar in Universal Studios. It was very good and reasonably priced for a theme park. I had Guinness Stew it was excellent.

Overall despite our early hiccups we did pretty well completing all we wanted in Universal Studios apart from The Simpsons.

It was the first time we had ever seen Universal Studios in the dark and it looked stunning. The park overall looks in good condition and the seems to have been plenty of work since our last visit.
Did we find a Minion ?
Of course we did!

What did I learn today?
Always take a photo of the back of your Universal tickets. If you lose them they can create replacements much easier if you have a copy of the information on the back of the ticket.

Tomorrow we are off to Islands of Adventure before heading to Disney World and Port Orleans Riverside.
