I write today’s blog sat on a beautiful sandy white beach, with the sound of the crystal blue sea lapping at my feet as waiters bring rum cocktails to my lounger.

Wait a second!
Oops wrong vacation.
We are in Universal Resort Orlando and tomorrow we are going to find a Minion.

Our Hotel is Loews Royal Pacific which is very beautiful and has excellent rooms. However; the key attraction is the included Universal Express Pass.

We are very tired from our journey and have had little chance to do anything except getting a quick bite to eat and a short explore of Loews Royal Pacific.

Our dinner was in Jakes which is an American Diner and bar. Food and service was very good.

However; our day started much earlier at Manchester airport. What felt like a prompt arrival was soon stalling as bag drop stopped due to a belt blockage. We did eventually get through with little time to spare and all our luggage did arrive too.
Our flight was with Virgin Atlantic which should pride itself on how consistently inconsistent it is! Food was dreadful. The pulled pork I could have believed was chicken or beef or horse or goat or dog. However other aspects of the journey was good.
Was it pork? I was told it was…. it certainly didn’t taste like it.
US immigration and baggage collection was fantastic. Through both within 30 minutes.
We are not hiring a car so we had our first go at ordering an Uber. It was with mixed results. We initially managed to order to the wrong terminal. The 2nd go was successful but the driver was not where Uber said he would be. However; the car was good and the price was cheaper than other options. We will have further goes at Uber during this trip.

Time for an early night. Tomorrow we are off early to Universal Studios. We have 2 nights in Universal and then we transfer to Walt Disney World for 2 weeks.

Things I Learnt Today
Uber isn’t as scary as I first thought.
Things I Have Still to Learn
Was it really Pork on the plane?……(Of course it was it just didn’t taste nice)
More adventures tomorrow & perhaps we might even meet a Minion.
