2 full days & 1 half day to finish on this blog. Today was built around dining! Meeting Mickey & Stitch for Breakfast, Snack at Food & Wine Festival for lunch and the exceptional Californian Grill for Dinner.
The Ohana Breakfast at the Polynesian is an excellent character meal. We have done it once before and again it did not disappoint. Breakfast is served Family Style and is plentiful. Quality is pretty good which is something I often don’t find with Disney breakfasts. We were met by Pluto, Mickey, Lilo and the Star of the Show Stitch. The Kids loved it and that is the main thing. I do think the Family Style plates are very wasteful. I asked for 1 extra sausage & I got a whole plate of food which was mainly wasted. Similar happened when I asked for 1 slice of meat at Liberty Tree Tavern several years back.

We completed World Showcase but the park was absolutely jammed. It was a fine Saturday and the Food and Wine Festival brought out the locals. It was the busiest we have ever seen EPCOT and certainly did not give the opportunity to enjoy the treasures of World Showcase. However; the festival does bring out a carnival atmosphere and many people were enjoying the food & drink offerings.

Dinner was at Californian Grill in the Contemporary. Although we have stayed at Contemporary before we have never visited the Californian Grill. It did not disappoint and would easily be a 2 Star Michelin Restaurant. I had Wagyu Rib Eye of Beef and the most amazing creme brûlée. You may recollect that we had a free Disney Dining Plan included with our package and this was the most expensive free meal I have ever had! Wine was incredibly expensive and once gratuity was added it would have been an expensive meal in a local restaurant. The Californian Grill also uses 2 Table Service credits from the Disney Dining Plan. However; the food was exceptional and it was worth it.
We ended the night with a quick trip to Magic Kingdom to get a few extra rides in before retiring to our hotel after an excellent day.
Regards
David
