Well we are now back home in the U.K.. Unfortunately I never managed to complete my Live Blog. I will bring you the remaining 4.5 days over the next couple of nights. Today it was the chance to experience the biggest building site in Walt Disney World i.e. Hollywood Studios. The biggest story following a 20 minute late start Fantasmic was cancelled due to a technical fault. The total performance lasted around 90 seconds.
Hollywood Studios is currently under huge transition as we wait completion of Star Wars Land & Toy Story Land. Despite this we had a great time in the park. Perhaps the main reason for this was the park was relatively quiet. In addition to the various recent closures Rock & Roll Rollercoaster was closed and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular was not being performed. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular was a major disappointment as when we made our plans it was scheduled.
The low crowd allowed us to complete the park in quick time and get an extra Fastpass for Toy Story Mania. Highlight of the day was the various new Star Wars attractions and particularly the new Character Meet & Greets. Kylo Ren is genuinely frightening!

Dinner today was at Mamma Melrose. We had booked a Fantasmic Dining Package which gives you a 3 course meal & reserved seating for Fantasmic. This is available on the Disney Dining Plan and is a very good use of 1 dining credit instead of the usual 2 course meal. We have eaten at Mamma Melrose several times before and always found it an excellent dining experience.

Fantasmic is a great show and we had great seats. Tonight though the wasn’t a show. After a delay of around 20 minutes the show eventually started. It lasted for less than 90 seconds when a technical fault developed. After a short pause stating it would restart shortly it was cancelled. The was major disappointment throughout the theatre and a few children crying. Interestingly the was very few Disney staff around as we left the theatre. I think our reserved seats were valid for another 5 days but we struggled to hear the announcement and never had time to return.

Hollywood Studios is currently an odd park which is undergoing huge transition. The name of the park itself is an oddity as it no longer is a studio. However; it does still have some excellent attractions e.g. Toy Story Mania, Star Tours & Tower of Terror. For now I suspect it will be the quietest park in WDW but I would still recommend going. Once Toy Story Land & Star Wars Land are complete you can expect the crowds to return. Make sure you get those top attractions done now whilst the park is quiet.
May the Force Be With You
