Thinking of doing a first time cruise with the family this summer. Want it to be in Europe don’t mind if I fly. What ship would you recommend for a first cruise? Have one child 7 year old boy.
Dear James
Fantastic to hear from you.
You never said where you are from. Clearly depending on this can influence your decision considerably.
The are so many good family cruise lines it would be hard to point you into a specific direction without more information.
That said this year seems to be a slightly quieter year on the European market. The is no Oasis Class ship this year & Carnival will not be sailing again until 2018 from Europe.
I would recommend reading around. The are numerous good sites out there to help. If I can point you to the following articles about family cruising from this site:-
article 1
article 2
Also is you are planning to cruise this summer you need to get booking soon this article explains why.
If you do decide to book let us know what you decide.
David
Well I booked my first cruise. We are sailing on 29/7 from Southampton on the Crown princess. Mediterranean cruise for two weeks. Did quite a lot of reading around about different cruise lines but in the end went with an itinerary we all fancied. Seems to be plus and minus points to all cruise lines. Not sure what Princess will be like for kids some people appear to rave about them others not so much so will have to wait and see. Must say princess cruises very good for 3rd person in the cabin. When I booked got 70% reduction on third person.
Time will tell if I get the cruising bug!
By the way loving your reports
Hi James lovely to here from you again. You might be interested to see our new video footage from Crown Princess.
I’m sure you will have a great time!
I recently went on The Jewel of The Seas Cruise as well. That’s how I found you, I was a searching on youtube for somebody who filmed the layout of cruise, and i stumbled upon your surprisingly recent video. This opened me up to the rest of your videos. While I was watching your video: Review of Junior Suite 1098 my son recognized your daughter from him talking to her in the adventure beach section of the ship. It really is a small world. Looking forward to your next post David!
Hi Brian
Yes it is a surprisingly small world.
Hope you had a great time as well.
